Plot Summary
THE GUN IS LOADED is a 37-minute performance video featuring former punk rocker, political satirist and sexual provocateur Lydia Lunch. This video trails Lydia in 1988 through a series of staged sets and location shots in New York City as she fires her spoken word manifesto directly into the eye of the camera, and in haunting voice-over. Underscoring Lydia’s onslaught is cinema verité footage of bottom-rung Americana: racecar crowds, dead-end streets and meat packing plants effectively illustrate her ruthless examination of “the American dream machine turned mean.” J.G. Thirlwell’s ominous score magnifies this brutal desolation. Identifying herself as “the average, all-American girl-next-store gone bad,” Lydia vivsects her own sustained damage as a product of this emotionally ravaging environment. Run Time: 37:00 About the Performer: LYDIA LUNCH is an American singer, poet, writer and actress whose career was spawned by the New York No Wave punk subculture in 1976. Her large and diverse body of work typically features provocative and confrontational delivery and has maintained an anti-commercial, do-it-yourself ethic, operating independently of major labels and distribution deals. She is most famous for her punk rock band TEENAGE JESUS AND THE JERKS and her acting in the hipster underground porn flicks of Richard Kern in which she performed unsimulated sex acts.

Joe Tripician is an award-winning Producer/Writer/Director and Playwright. His work has been broadcast on Network and Cable television across America, Europe and Japan, and has shown at the Cannes Film Festival. Joe received his first EMMY award for the documentary "Metaphoria" broadcast in the US on PBS in 1991. Joe's humor book, "The Official Alien Abductee's Handbook", was published by Andrews and McMeel in 1997. Author and Futurist Robert Anton Wilson called it: "The funniest book I've read since the Warren Report." Famed scientist John C. Lilly said: "Joe Tripician has achieved the impossible: a truly funny book on alien abductions." In 1996 Joe wrote, recorded and performed an alien song ("Ozark Melody") with the legendary Jeff Buckley along with musical partner Frederick Reed. In May of 2002, Joe performed in his one-man play, "Balkanized at Sunrise", based on his 1997 trip to the Balkans. His Balkan journey began when the Croatian government hired him to write an official biography of their president. Much hilarity ensured. Joe spends his time between New York and Brazil with his wife and two daughters, who do most of the translating for him.
