The company was formed in 2007 by William Janczewski, James B. Myers and Frank H. Woodward with the goal of bringing both depth and breadth to geek culture. Wyrd’s premiere documentary was LOVECRAFT: FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN, a chronicle of author H.P. Lovecraft's the life, work and mind. The film featured interviews with Peter Straub, Neil Gaiman, Guillermo Del Toro, and John Carpenter. LOVECRAFT premiered at the 2008 Comic-Con in San Diego where it won Best Documentary Film. It went on to screen at festivals in Montreal, Buenos Aires, Port Alegre-Brazil, Park City, Portland and Los Angeles. LOVECRAFT is currently available on DVD & Blu-Ray. THE SPLAT PACK is Wyrd's second release. Wyrd is currently in production on two new films including MEN IN SUITS, a history of creature suits and the actors that bring them to life, and a documentary about the counter culture of steampunk.
